Mahoba, 28 September (HS). Preparations are in full swing for the Shardiya Navratri festival. Sculptors are preparing idols of different forms of Goddess Durga. Pandals are being decorated across the district for goddess idols. There is enthusiasm among people regarding Navratri festival.
Idols of different forms of Maa Durga are being prepared by deaf and mute sculptor Om Prakash Shukla at Hamirpur Chungi, Mahoba district headquarters. He has been creating sculptures continuously for the last 15 years. Whereas Kolkata sculptor K. Of. Das is preparing the statues on Rath Road located at the district headquarters. He says that in today's time the cost of preparing idols is increasing. Materials have to be brought from metropolitan cities Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Maharashtra and Kolkata. He told that idols ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 25000 are being made here. There is a special demand for the idols of nine forms of Mother Goddess. Regarding which statues are being made. Regarding Shardiya Navratri, preparations are being made by the organizing committees to organize religious programs in Devi Pandals. Sanatani is busy preparing for the holy festival with enthusiasm and joy. The work of cleaning and painting is going on at a fast pace in all the temples.
