Kolkata, 28 September (HS). Kolkata will remain partly cloudy during the next 24 hours with light rain or thundershowers at isolated places. The Meteorological Department said on Saturday that the maximum temperature is likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 26 degrees Celsius. However, the maximum temperature in the last 24 hours was 30.2 degrees Celsius, 2.3 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius, 0.6 degrees above normal.
Humidity conditions also remained high in Kolkata, where the maximum relative humidity was 97 percent and the minimum relative humidity was 80 percent. At the same time, in the last 24 hours till 6:30 am, 1.3 mm rain was recorded.
Howrah will also remain partly cloudy with a possibility of light rain. The temperature will be around 33 degrees Celsius and the night temperature may drop to 25 degrees Celsius.
There is a possibility of light rain and thundershowers in South 24 Parganas district. The day temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius.
There are chances of light rain in North 24 Parganas. The maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 25 degrees Celsius.
Light rain may also occur in Nadia district. The day temperature can go up to 30 °C, while at night it can drop to 24 °C.
In Medinipur, the temperature with rain is likely to be 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 25 degrees Celsius.
The areas of Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Kalimpong in North Bengal will remain cool. The day temperature will be around 22 degrees Celsius and the night temperature will be around 15 degrees Celsius. There are also chances of rain.
In view of the possibility of rain in most of the districts of West Bengal, farmers and local people have been advised to remain alert.
