Seraikela, 27 September (Hindustan Reporter). The district police, while revealing the double murder of a husband and wife that took place on September 13 in village Bijar of Darbhanga OP under Kuchai police station area, has arrested all the ten accused involved in the murder and sent them to judicial custody.
It is noteworthy that on September 13, Soma Singh Munda and his wife Sijadi Devi were murdered with sharp weapons and bullets in village Bijar of Dalbhanga OP area under Kuchai police station area of the district. A day after the incident, on September 14, the police received information about the incident. After the murder case was registered by Sukhlal Munda, the family of the deceased, the police started investigation and arrested a total of 10 accused involved in the double murder and sent them to judicial custody.
The accused include Mohar Singh Munda, Chaitanya Munda, Durga Munda, Budhram Munda, Keanu Ram Munda, Chambu Ram Munda, Amit Mundu, Ram Mundu, Sanika Munda, Birsa Munda. All the accused seem to be from nearby villages and relatives of the deceased. The police have recovered a pistol, a country-made pistol, three live bullets, a scooter and a mobile phone from the murder accused.
Circle Inspector of Seraikela police station, Shambhu Prasad Gupta said that the accused had murdered the couple due to witchcraft. The conspirators and the accused have been arrested in this murder case. Raids are being conducted to arrest other accused.
