Satyendra Das has stressed the need to thoroughly check the quality of oil and ghee sold across the country. He said, “There is a growing controversy across the country over the alleged use of fat and fish oil in the offerings of Tirupati Balaji.” He alleged that there is an international conspiracy to defile temples by mixing inappropriate substances in the offerings.
Fruits and flowers instead of sweets in Mathura
Here, Dharma Raksha Sangh in Mathura announced its decision to return to the ancient style of 'Prasadam' dishes. This means that instead of sweets, prasad made of fruits, flowers and other natural ingredients will be included.
Dharma Raksha Sangh national president Saurabh Gaur stressed the need for significant reforms in the prasadam system and said there was consensus among religious leaders and organizations to return to traditional practices of offering and accepting pure, sattvic prasadam.
What change in Prayagraj?
Many temples, including Alop Shankari Devi, Bade Hanuman and Mankameshwar in the 'Sangam city' Prayagraj, have banned devotees from bringing sweets and other items made from outside as prasad.
Dry fruits and fruits can be offered in the temple of Lalita Devi.
Shiv Murat Mishra, chief priest of Lalita Devi temple, said the management has decided to request devotees to bring only coconuts, fruits and dry fruits.
