Ahmedabad: An incident of a student ending his life by hanging himself has come to light in the hostel of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM-Ahmedabad) located in Vastrapur area of the city.
In this regard, PI VD Mori of Vastrapur Police Station said that Akshay Chachiya (24), a native of Warangal, Telangana, was pursuing MBA course in IIM Ahmedabad. Today, when other students were busy in their projects in the campus, Akshit hanged himself in his room.
Today at around 4:00 pm, after receiving information about Akshay committing suicide, a police convoy reached the spot. Where Akshay's body was found hanging. Akshay's body was taken down for post-mortem.
It is not yet known why the student took the last step. No suicide note was also found. At present, the police have seized the mobile phone and laptop of the deceased student for investigation and are taking further legal action.
On the other hand, a statement has also been issued by IIM Ahmedabad. In which he has expressed grief over the untimely death of the student. Also, the family of the deceased has been assured of all kinds of help.
