BigBlock Construction: BigBlock Construction Limited, one of the largest manufacturers of Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) blocks, bricks and panels in India, has recently placed an order to install a 250 kW rooftop solar plant. The company already has a 450 kW rooftop solar power project at its Umargaon (Vapi) unit. This will take the total installed capacity of the Umargaon unit to more than 700 KW upon completion of the project.

BigBlock reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability by implementing solar power plants across its manufacturing capabilities. The company has commissioned a 625 kW rooftop solar project at its WADA plant in Palghar, Maharashtra. With additional installation of 250 kW, the total installed solar capacity of the company will reach 1.3 MW. This initiative demonstrates the company's commitment to moving towards renewable energy solutions and reducing its carbon footprint.

Narayan Sabu, Chairman of BigBlock Construction, said, “We are thrilled to announce this important milestone in our journey towards a more sustainable future. The solar energy generated from this installation will not only offset a significant portion of BigBlock's energy consumption but will also save significant operating costs.

This financial gain will enable the company to reinvest in its sustainability initiatives and further strengthen its position in the green manufacturing sector. We wish to implement rooftop solar energy systems in all our plants and further our commitment towards the environment. By investing in solar energy, we are not only reducing our environmental impact but also demonstrating our commitment to creating a better world for future generations.

Established in 2015, BigBlock Construction Limited is the largest and only listed company in the Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) block sector. The company's manufacturing plants are located at Umargaon (Vapi) and Kapadvanj (Ahmedabad) in Gujarat and Wada (Palghar) in Maharashtra.

It is one of the very few companies in the AAC industry that generates carbon credits. Earlier, the company had invested around Rs. Announced to set up a 625 kilowatt rooftop solar power project with an investment of Rs 2.5 crore. The company is in the process of setting up another rooftop solar plant at the Kapadvanj unit.
