Mau, 26 September (HS). Samajwadi Party (SP) MP from Ghosi Lok Sabha seat Rajiv Rai has received a death threat from an unknown number. After receiving the threat, the MP has complained to Mau police station. The police have registered a case and started looking for the person who threatened. Investigation is being carried out by putting the call number on surveillance.
Mau Superintendent of Police Ilamaran told in the case of threat to SP MP Rajiv Rai that while giving a written complaint on behalf of the MP, he said that on 20th September at 10:11 am, he received a call from an unknown number on his phone. As soon as he received the call, he was threatened to be killed. On the basis of the written complaint received in this regard, a case has been registered in the police station under the relevant sections and surveillance along with the police has been engaged in the investigation.
In this regard, MP Rajeev Rai says that he was continuously receiving calls from a number. On picking up the phone, the caller was threatening to kill him.
Rajiv Rai is a trusted leader of Akhilesh Yadav
Rajiv Rai is the national secretary and spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party. In 2012, when the Samajwadi Party won the elections in UP with an absolute majority, Rajiv Rai was considered the most trusted leader of Akhilesh Yadav and was also the media face of the party. Due to this trust, Akhilesh made him the Lok Sabha candidate from Ghosi in 2014. After this, Rajiv Rai won the 2024 elections from Ghosi seat of Uttar Pradesh.
