Haridwar, September 26 (HS). To pave the way for the advancement and progress of daughters, career counseling and self-defense techniques should be taught. District Magistrate Karmendra Singh said this while holding a meeting of the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Task Force in the district office.
The District Magistrate said that in the current financial year, work should be done in a better way under the scheme towards Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao. He directed the Health Department to randomly check the ultrasound centres under the PCPNDT Act and the task force constituted under the PCPNDT should provide a progress report every month so that not a single abortion takes place in the district. He directed that sports competitions should be organized for adolescent girls and self-defense training should be given. He directed that awareness should be created by organizing workshops for pregnant women. He directed the concerned officials to run special awareness campaigns in areas with low sex ratio, minority and tribal areas. He directed the officials of the Child Development Department to organize an online slogan competition under the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign.
