Korba, September 26 (HS). Under the program 'Safai Mitra Suraksha', an important component of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, intensive health check-up of Safai Mitras, Swachhata Didi and workers was done through mobile medical unit in all 16 SLRM centers and zone offices of Municipal Corporation Korba on Thursday. The corporation's health officer Dr. Sanjay Tiwari gave detailed information about the safety measures and precautions to be taken by Safai Mitras during work.
It is noteworthy that in accordance with the guidelines of the government, under the guidance of Collector Ajit Vasant and under the guidance of Commissioner Pratishtha Mamgai, from September 17, under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, organizing Swachhata Pakhwada, special cleaning work, various cleanliness related programs, public awareness towards cleanliness, publicity etc. are being conducted as a campaign. Corporation's Health Officer Dr. Sanjay Tiwari said that under an important component of Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, “Safai Mitra Suraksha”, the health of Safai Mitras was examined today through mobile medical unit in the corporation's SLRM centers and zone offices. The doctors of the unit examined the health of Safai Mitras and checked their blood pressure, sugar etc. and as per requirement, their blood test was done in the lab located in MMU. Since the work of cleaning and sanitation is done by Safai Mitras, in which there is a possibility of diseases, in view of this, detailed information was provided by Health Officer Dr. Sanjay Tiwari regarding various safety steps and precautions to be taken by Safai Mitras during work, and Safai Mitras were advised to compulsorily wear necessary safety equipment during work and take all necessary precautions. It is worth noting that every month the Nagar Palika Nigam Korba gets the health check-up of Safai Mitras, Swachhata Didi's and workers engaged in cleaning work done, along with this the necessary safety equipment is also being provided to them from time to time by the Corporation.
Cleanliness drive conducted in Ward No. 45 Sarvamangalanagar
A cleanliness drive was organised today in ward number 45 Sarvamangalanagar of Korba Municipal Corporation under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, under the leadership of ward councilors Mrs. Bhanumati Jaiswal and Madhav Prasad Jaiswal. During this the residents of the ward and the Safai Mitras of the corporation did special cleaning work. Apart from the colony, special cleaning was done of the school building, Anganwadi building, community building and other public places, while insecticides were sprayed in the drains and waterlogged places in the colony. On this occasion, Sanitation Inspector Uttamdas Mahant, Maan Singh, Corporation's Commando and the citizens of the ward participated in the cleanliness work.
Massive cleanliness awareness rally on 28 September
Health Officer Dr. Sanjay Tiwari said that under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, a massive cleanliness awareness rally has been organized on September 28. He said that the cleanliness awareness rally will start from Shastri Chowk Kosabadi Korba at 7.30 am and will reach Ghantaghar via Subhash Chowk Niharika, where along with various cleanliness related programs, the people present will be administered the cleanliness oath. The district administration and the corporation administration have appealed to the common citizens to join the cleanliness awareness rally and give their participation in the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan.
