Maharashtra Politics: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and National Congress Party (Ajit Group) chief Ajit Pawar spoke openly about his desire to become the Chief Minister. During a program, he said, 'I want to become the Chief Minister, but often get stuck at the post of Deputy CM.' During this, he also talked about the seat sharing between the Mahayuti led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde i.e. NCP, Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena in the region.
'NCP got a chance to make him CM in 2004'
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said in a program. 'I want to become the Chief Minister, but I cannot move forward. I am not getting a chance. In the year 2004, NCP had a chance to make someone the Chief Minister, but the party lost it. The special thing is that in 2004, the CM post of Maharashtra went to the account of Congress.
It is worth noting that in the 2004 assembly elections, NCP emerged as the largest party in Maharashtra. NCP got 71 seats. While Congress was in second place with 69 seats. Then Congress leader Vilasrao Deshmukh was made the Chief Minister. Vilasrao fell in the year 2012.
How will seat allocation be done?
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said in the program that the seat sharing will be done on the basis of the number of seats won by the party in the year 2019. BJP will contest the elections on the seats won in 2019. The same will be for NCP (Ajit group) and Shiv Sena (Shinde group). In such a situation, the seat sharing formula on 200 seats is clear. The remaining 88 seats will be shared among the alliance partners.
