New Delhi: More than 50 medicines including paracetamol and Pan D have failed the quality test. These medicines have not been found to be of standard quality. This has come to light in the recent monthly report of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). In such a situation, these medicines used for many diseases like fever and blood pressure have increased the concern of the people.
Several medicines such as paracetamol, vitamin D, calcium supplements, high blood pressure and diabetes failed the quality check. Cepodem XP 50 Dry Suspension, a medicine used in children, also tested positive for COVID-19.

The Centre has banned 156 FCD drugs
The central government has earlier banned 156 FDC medicines used for fever, cold, allergy and pain. The government says that the use of these medicines can be dangerous. Medicines prepared by mixing two or more medicines are called FDC. The government has also banned the combination of paracetamol, tramadol, taurine and caffeine.
