Mumbai: Popular 90s heroine Urmila Matondkar is getting divorced after eight years of marriage. She has also filed a divorce petition in a Mumbai court to get divorce from her husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir.
However, no reason has been revealed as to why Urmila and Mohsin are getting divorced. According to knowledgeable circles, the two have not been able to agree on the terms of the divorce. This means that there may be a legal battle over this divorce.
However, Urmila Matondkar has not given any official statement on these reports. But, she says that she has been living separately from husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir for a long time. Urmila has also unfollowed Mohsin on social media.
On 3 March 2016, Urmila married Mohsin Akhtar Mir, who is 10 years younger than her. Urmila was trolled a lot at that time.
After retiring from Bollywood, Urmila entered politics. She contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North seat in 2019. But she lost it. Later she joined the then undivided Shiv Sena. A proposal was sent from Shiv Sena to make her a member of the Legislative Council but this proposal was canceled with the fall of the Uddhav Thackeray government in the same period.
