PM Modi canceled Pune visit: Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cancelled his Pune visit. Heavy rains are wreaking havoc in many cities of Maharashtra. Public life has been disrupted due to waterlogging on the roads. Prime Minister Modi was to visit this state on Thursday. He had started the Pune Metro Train with a cost of Rs 2 crore. The foundation stone of various schemes worth Rs 22600 crore was to be laid. However, this decision had to be taken due to heavy rains.
School-college closed
Due to extremely heavy rains, it has been decided to close schools and colleges in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. Mumbai Police has appealed to people to remain alert and take the alert issued by the Meteorological Department seriously. Railway services have also been affected. IMD has issued an orange alert for Pune district. Citizens have been advised not to leave their homes without any reason and to remain alert.
This plan was to be implemented
PM Modi was to launch three Param Rudra supercomputers indigenously developed at a cost of Rs. 130 crore under the National Supercomputing Mission. These supercomputers have been deployed in Pune, Delhi and Kolkata to facilitate leading scientific research. A high performance computing system to facilitate weather and climate research was also to be inaugurated.
It is worth noting that an investment of Rs. 850 crore has been made behind this project. Prime Minister Modi was also to launch various initiatives in the petroleum and natural gas sector at a cost of Rs. 10400 crore. These initiatives focus on energy, infrastructure, convenience and safety of truck and cab drivers, clean energy and a sustainable future.
