Kishanganj, 25 September (HS). Two children Arfa and Akram Reza suffering from a congenital disorder called club foot in the district have been sent to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH) in Bhagalpur for treatment. Club foot is a condition in which the feet of children are bent inwards and downwards from birth, due to which they are unable to walk normally.

Club foot, also known as talipes, is a congenital disorder in which the child's feet are bent inwards and downwards. If it is not treated on time, it can cause disability. The District Early Intervention Center (DEIC) working under the National Child Health Program in the district identified these children and arranged for their treatment. The main objective of RBSK is to identify the health problems of children from 0 to 18 years and provide them timely treatment. One month old girl Aarfa and 12 month old boy Akram Reza of Thakurganj block were identified by the team of National Child Health Program. Considering the condition of the children's feet as serious, the team has sent them for treatment to JLNMCH Bhagalpur, where their condition is stable.

On the instructions of Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Kumar, the children were immediately sent to Bhagalpur through ambulance from Sadar Hospital premises. The Civil Surgeon and the RBSK team have ensured that the families of these children will not have to bear any kind of expense during the treatment. The health condition of the children will also be monitored after the operation, so that they can be taken complete care of. This initiative shows the success of the efforts being made by the government for the health of children and is a relief news for the affected families. RBSK DIC Manager Pankaj Kumar Sharma said that the aim of RBSK is not only to identify diseases but also to provide free treatment to needy children. In this case, the families did not have to worry about any kind of financial concern for the operation of these three children.
