Kolkata, September 24 (HS). Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has called an important meeting on Thursday evening regarding the security and infrastructure of the state's medical colleges. Earlier, on Wednesday, the state health officials took stock of the problems and possibilities of their respective areas.
The meeting, to be held at the Navanna auditorium, will be attended by the principals and vice-principals of five major medical colleges in Kolkata, directors of institutes like the School of Tropical Medicine, Beliaghata ID Hospital and Institute of Psychology, along with the state health secretary and the director of health and medical education.
The heads and vice-heads of other medical colleges in the state have been instructed to attend this meeting virtually. This meeting was earlier scheduled to be held on September 12, but at the same time, a strike of junior doctors was going on at R.G. Kar Medical College. Efforts were being made to end the strike, due to which the meeting was postponed on that day.
