Umaria, September 25 (HS). Corruption is rampant in the Manpur assembly constituency of the district, no one is afraid of anyone here. The greed for money in government departments has increased so much that even women who earn their living by making bidis and bamboo utensils were asked for more money after taking Rs. 10,000 each in the name of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and abusing them, which created a ruckus in the Panchayat Bhawan when the women opened a front against the secretary in the Gram Sabha and created a ruckus. Actually, a meeting was to be held in the Panchayat Bhawan regarding Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, but the matter of allocating housing in PM Awas Yojana for money became a matter of commotion, so much so that the Sarpanch and other members had to leave the Panchayat Bhawan and run away.

The matter is of Gram Panchayat Amarpur falling under Manpur Assembly Constituency of Umaria district where a meeting was called to add the names of eligible beneficiaries in PM Awas Yojna, where women created a ruckus when the Secretary demanded Rs. 15000 for each allotted house, some are living in rented rooms while others are making a living by building huts. 200 villagers of the village who reached the general meeting surrounded the entire building and strongly objected to demanding money in exchange for houses.

Madina, a resident of Gram Panchayat Amarpur, said that the secretary took Rs 10,000 from us and removed our name from the housing list, and we do not even get money under the Ladli Behna Yojana and are forced to live in a hut. Another woman, Shakuntala, said that we do not have a house to live in, our house has collapsed since two years, we feed our children by making utensils from bamboo, the secretary took Rs 10,000 from us and is now asking for Rs 5,000 more, so from where should we poor people give it, should we give it to him or feed our children.

In this case, CEO District Panchayat Abhay Singh Oharia completely denied all the allegations and said that if this is so then an investigation will be conducted and this cannot happen, the portal has been made, everything is transparent and it is checked, after the investigation, money is deposited in the portal.

It is noteworthy that wherever you look, online work is done, but verification is done manually and all transactions are done there, a direct example of which is being seen in the actions of Lokayukta every day.
