Forbesganj/Araria, 25 September (HS). A bike hit the trailer of a cement-laden tractor lying broken near the Soura bridge on Raniganj-Araria NH 327 E. In the accident, a young man and a teenager riding the bike died on the spot.
The deceased include Raja Kumar, 14-year-old son of Rajkishore Mandal alias Pahadi Mandal, a resident of Betauna village, ward number 14 of Kharhat Panchayat, and Pravesh Rai, about 32-year-old son of Jaharu Rai.
Regarding the incident, the family of the deceased and the villagers said that on Tuesday night, there was a program at the house of a person in the village to celebrate a child's birthday. During this, some people's food was cut short. After this, late at night around 1.30 am, Pravesh Rai and his neighbor Raja Kumar went to Araria on an Apache bike to bring food. While returning home from Araria after getting the food packed, they hit a tractor lying broken near the Soura bridge from behind. The collision was so severe that the bike was shattered. Due to it being late night, no one was present at the spot at the time of the incident. A truck driver passing by informed the 112 police about the incident. The police of Raniganj police station reached the spot. After this, the police informed the local villagers about the incident.
As soon as the villagers got information about the incident, they reached the spot. After that, with the help of the villagers, the police removed both the bodies trapped in the tractor trailer and sent them to Araria for post-mortem.
Raniganj Police Station Chief, Nirmal Kumar Yadavendu said that further action would be taken on the written complaint of the family of the deceased.
