According to the information received, ASI Sikandar Singh, in-charge of Police Post Shelter, said that the missing youth has been identified as Syed Mustafa (28), son of Hussain Mustafa, native of Afghanistan, resident of Ekamjot Colony, Mohali. He told that four youths had come to Mohali from Afghanistan in search of employment. Who lived in a rented house in Ekamjot Colony, Mohali. One of these youths got a job in a private factory. While the rest are still looking for employment.

All four of them had come to have fun near the Sutlej river by taking a hired taxi and traveling by rail. On this occasion, Syed Mustafa, son of Hussain Mustafa, Ahmed Shameed, son of Abdul Shameed, Ghulam Haider, son of Ghulam Hazrat, Roman Satar, son of Abdul Satar went to take bath in the water of Sutlej river, three of them returned. Whereas Syed Mustafa did not come out of the water. The youth searched for him extensively, but when he went missing, the police was informed. Kathgarh police station in-charge Pavitra Singh said that the police has started searching for the youth with the help of divers and NDRF, but the youth has not been found yet.
