This case is from Aligarh. 80-year-old Munesh Kumar Gupta has retired from the post of supervisor in the health department. There is a property dispute going on between him and his wife Gayatri Devi (76 years) since 2018. The matter reached the police station and was transferred to the family counseling center. However, the matter was not resolved. After this, both started living separately.
Wife asked for maintenance allowance
Gayatri Devi filed an application in the family court and said that 'her husband's pension is about 35 thousand rupees. He demanded Rs 15,000 per month for livelihood, but the family court in its order dated February 16 has demanded a maintenance allowance of Rs 5,000. Her husband challenged this in the High Court, which is now being heard.'
Such legal battles are a matter of concern
Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery is hearing the petition. He commented, 'It seems Kali Yuga has arrived and such legal battles are a matter of concern.' He also tried to counsel the couple.
Gayatri Devi said, 'We had asked for maintenance allowance and the family court has ruled in our favour. After this, the husband has challenged the court order. Now the High Court has issued a notice to Gayatri Devi and said, 'We hope that she will settle the matter by the next hearing.'
