Surat Police's special message for girls going to play Garba on Navratri – 'Avoid taking lift from strangers' – News India Live | News India

Surat: As only a few days are left for the Navratri festival, Surat Police has issued a special message for all the girls who are going to play Garba on Navratri. Apart from this, during Navratri this year, the SHE team of Surat Police will do duty in traditional costumes and on horseback and surveillance will also be done through drones.

Navratri is organised in big domes in Surat city. Apart from this, street Garba is also celebrated with great enthusiasm, this year Surat Police has issued a special message to all the girls going to play Garba during Navratri to be cautious.

Apart from the various teams of Surat Police, bike patrolling and police with body worn cameras will be on duty. This year horse mounted police and drone surveillance will also be used for security. Also, if any vehicle is not found at night, inform the police by dialling 100 or 181.

Surat City Police has a special message for all the girls who are going to play Garba this Navratri

  • Give your family members the address of the place where you are going to play Garba and the mobile numbers of colleagues/friends with whom you are going to play Garba.
  • If you go to play Garba, always keep the Google Location feature on in your mobile phone settings.
  • Do not consume alcoholic beverages, cold drinks or food given by strangers or poorly known persons.
  • Do not share personal information, photos or videos with strangers or strangers on social media.
  • Take appropriate precautions when meeting people you met through social networking sites.
  • While going to play Garba, stay in a familiar group, avoid taking lift or giving lift to any stranger.
  • Do not go to a secluded or deserted place with any stranger or unknown person.
  • Always choose a crowded route to reach the Garba venue.
