Palwal, September 24 (HS). District police is on alert mode in view of the assembly elections in the district and has launched a special operation attack against criminals. Under the operation, the district police arrested 69 accused including a criminal with a reward of five thousand rupees in one day. A large amount of illegal liquor, drugs, money invested in gambling and betting and a stolen bike have been recovered from them.
Under Operation Aakram, 163 police officers and employees deployed in 47 teams prepared from all the crime investigation branches, police stations and outposts under the leadership of SP Chandramohan, attacked the criminals and made arrests in different cases. Under the operation, the AVT team has arrested Rahul alias Bhola, a resident of Chandhat village, who was absconding and wanted in the Deepak murder case registered on August 10, 2024.
Other teams of the district have arrested 10 POs, 17 bail jumpers and four NBWs. 15 cases have been registered under the Excise Act and 17 have been arrested and 569 bottles of country liquor and 288 bottles of foreign liquor have been recovered from their possession. Two accused have been arrested in two cases under the Gambling Act and Rs 3310 has been recovered from them.

While 28 accused were arrested in old cases registered in various police stations. While 397 vehicles were challaned in the district for violating traffic rules and lane change.
