Palamu, 24 September (HS). 85 outsourced workers working in Nilambar Pitambar University were removed from work. The salary of all the workers is pending for nine months from January to September. The workers staged a sit-in protest in the university campus on Tuesday after being removed from the job without being paid after doing the work.

The protesting employees said that the university officials only gave assurances about salary payment. It was said that your dues will be paid within a month and you can continue your departmental work but on 23rd September, suddenly everyone was stopped from marking their attendance in the attendance register and it was said that you all are expelled. All of us employees were expelled without paying our salaries.

Those who participated in the protest included Alok Kumar, Ankit Upadhyay, Suryakant Tiwari, Chandan Singh, Shubham Tiwari, Pankaj Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Amit Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Tarachand Kumar, Ravi Prakash Thakur, Vivek Dubey and other employees.

CPI district secretary Ruchir Tiwari has strongly objected to the removal of outsourcing workers from Nilambar Pitambar University. He said that 85 youths have not received salary for the last 9 months. They were made to work for 9 months and suddenly sacking them without paying salary is sheer exploitation of the labour of the youth and injustice to them by the Vice Chancellor of the university. I demand from the university administration that the pending salary of 9 months be paid to the youth immediately and these youth be reinstated.
