Bolpur, 24 September (HS). On the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, buses will be started on the Kolkata-Jaydev route from Wednesday. The bus from Jaydev to Kolkata route under Birbhum district was stopped due to lack of a precise route for traffic. A local journalist from Jaydev area requested to start buses again on that route. After receiving this complaint, Chief Minister Mamata ordered to run buses on the Kolkata-Jaydev route.
It is worth mentioning that every day many people travel from Jaydev of Birbhum to Burdwan Medical College Hospital or many hospitals in Kolkata. People were facing difficulties due to lack of direct means of transport.
In the words of the complainant, “Many of us travel from Jaydev to Burdwan Medical College Hospital and several hospitals in Kolkata. Starting the bus service will facilitate commuting.”
According to sources, as soon as the complaint was received, the Chief Minister spoke to Chief Secretary Manoj Pant. He said that the bus service will be started from tomorrow i.e. Wednesday. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the local people after hearing this news.
