Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan meets farmers: The Haryana assembly elections are being campaigned vigorously by all political newspapers. Meanwhile, the central government has once again started talks with farmers on several pending issues including the minimum support price (MSP). On Tuesday (September 24), Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan met representatives of several farmer organizations. Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, 'We will talk to the farmers until the issues are resolved. This is just a beginning. We will sit and discuss all the issues and efforts will be made to find a solution to every issue.'

Will meet farmers every Tuesday: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

After meeting the farmers, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “We have received suggestions to strengthen the MSP. We will consider them. We will meet farmers every Tuesday and talk to farmers across the country. This was the first round of talks and during this time farmers raised issues ranging from insurance scheme to MSP. We have asked them to consider and have agreed to continue the discussion further.” Serving people is equal to worshipping God for us.

Were these issues discussed?

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, 'Today I spoke to various farmer organizations, met about 50 farmer leaders and received many suggestions from them. Some suggestions are about crop prices, some are about crop insurance schemes, some are about losses caused by stray animals. Many suggestions have been given on what decision the farmer should take when the crop arrives. I was sitting with a team of officials. We will work on them and after working, we will try to do whatever is possible.'

A large number of people gathered at Shambhu border

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has spoken to the farmers at a time when a large number of farmers have gathered at Shambhu border. For about 200 days, farmers have been protesting on the border of Punjab and Haryana demanding permission to go to Delhi. In such a situation, the government's efforts to negotiate are an attempt to persuade them. Especially before the Haryana assembly elections, the government has started talks with the farmers, so that an atmosphere can be created in the state in favor of BJP.

According to reports, there is resentment against BJP among the farmers in Haryana. This is especially seen in the areas adjoining Punjab. In such a situation, the government's attempt to negotiate not only with the farmers but also with the farmers seems to be a strategy to win the elections.

Farmers sitting at Shambhu border were not present in the meeting

Representatives of Bharatiya Kisan Union Apolitical from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra participated in this meeting. Farmer leaders say that we have raised issues like MSP, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Crop Insurance Scheme. At present, the government has assured to consider it. However, no representative of the farmer organizations sitting on the Shambhu border for the last 7 months was present in the meeting.
