New Delhi: AAP leader Atishi has taken over as the Chief Minister of Delhi today. However, she has kept the chair of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal vacant and placed her chair next to it. However, BJP and Congress have criticized Atishi's decision and said that doing so has caused great insult to the post of Chief Minister.
Speaking to reporters after taking over as Chief Minister, Atishi referred to the Ramayana and said that my situation is like that of Lord Rama's brother Bharat. It is noteworthy that Bharat ruled Ayodhya during Lord Rama's 14-year exile.
At the Chief Minister's Office in the Delhi Secretariat, Atishi, 43, has placed her white chair next to the red chair used by Arvind Kejriwal.
He said that just like Bharat took the responsibility of Lord Ram's sandals for 14 years, I will also take the responsibility for four months.
He further said that the chair of the Chief Minister of Delhi belongs to Arvind Kejriwal. I hope that the people of Delhi will elect him as the Chief Minister again. Till then the chair of the Chief Minister will remain in the office and will wait for him.
