Sri Lanka's new President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said on Monday that he agrees with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to strengthen relations between the two countries. Dissanayake made the above comment on Sunday while responding to an X-post by Prime Minister Modi congratulating Marxist leader Dissanayake on becoming the President of Sri Lanka. It is worth noting that Dissanayake has been elected in the presidential election held in Sri Lanka.

Dissanayake thanked Prime Minister Modi ex post and said, “I agree with your commitment to strengthen relations between the two countries. We can work collaboratively for the benefit of the people of both countries and the entire region.”
