Gwalior, March 7 (HS). To give a boost to the tourism sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday dedicated to the nation 52 tourism sector projects worth more than Rs 1400 crore under the Swadesh Darshan and Prashad Yojana. In which tourism development plan of Gwalior and Chitrakoot region of Madhya Pradesh is also included.
Prime Minister Modi's vision is to improve the quality of the overall experience of tourists and pilgrims at major pilgrimage and tourist destinations in the country by creating world-class infrastructure and facilities at these sites. The major event took place in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir in the presence of Prime Minister Modi. Under which, the virtual launching program of Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh was organized under the chief hospitality of State Energy Minister Pradhum Singh Tomar at Smart City Office, Motimahal Complex.
Gwalior and Chitrakoot from Madhya Pradesh have been included under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, with the aim of promoting tourism in the entire country. Under this scheme, tourism circuit will be developed in Gwalior. Phoolbagh Heritage Experience Zone of Gwalior has been selected for the first phase of this scheme.
Former state minister Maya Singh, BJP district president Abhay Chaudhary, regional councilor Aparna Patil were present as special guests in the program organized in the Smart City complex. In the same program, Smart City CEO Neetu Mathur and officials of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India along with students of IITTTM, IHM were present in large numbers.
On this occasion, Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that Gwalior is a historical city. Many sites of archaeological importance are established in Gwalior. Along with this, Gwalior also has its own identity in the field of art, culture and music. Due to the work that will be done in Gwalior through Bharat Darshan 2.0 scheme, tourists from India and abroad will come to Gwalior and will be able to see the glorious history of Gwalior. BJP District President Abhay Chaudhary also expressed his views in the program.
Many development works related to tourism will be done under Phulbagh Heritage Experience Zone
In the first phase of Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme, Phulbagh-Motimahal area will be developed as Phulbagh Heritage Experience Zone. Phulbagh area will be developed as a new experience area of tourism with an amount of about Rs 17 crore under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Under this scheme, Motimahal, Baijatal, Museum, Gopal Temple and Rani Lakshmi Bai Samadhi place located in this area will be developed as a tourist circuit and tourists will be taken to tour an area of about 1.8 km through vintage car. Similarly, “Music Museum” will be established in Motimahal, Gwalior under another scheme of the Government of India. Beautification of food zone, sculpture centre, Italian garden area and projection mapping will also be done in front of Baijatal. With the development of this area, along with the development of tourism, employment opportunities will also increase.
