Rampura Flower: Swine flu has struck Punjab. After a person from Rampura Phul's Patiala Mandi died of swine flu on Saturday evening, the deceased was cremated in Gandhi Nagar's Shivpuri on Sunday morning as per the instructions of the health department. On the occasion of the cremation, the team of the health department Block Balianwali gave kits to the family members and gloves and masks were also given to the people present on the spot. During this, the health department, apart from taking samples of the deceased's family members, surveyed 255 nearby houses and provided information about swine flu.
Acting Civil Surgeon Bathinda Dr Raman Singla said that the man from Patiala Mandi was admitted to Rampur Phul and later to a private hospital in Ludhiana after he suffered from fever a few days ago. He died of swine flu here on Saturday. Block Extension Educator Balianwali Jagtar Singh said that the swine flu H1N1 virus spreads from one person to another during breathing. A person suffering from swine flu may experience high fever, cough, cold, itching in the throat, sneezing, runny nose, body fatigue, difficulty in breathing and diarrhea.
