Banda, 22 September (HS). Artisans from Bihar were making pistols and revolvers in Banda district of UP. Raw material was also procured from Bihar. On receiving information, the Lucknow team of UP STF raided Banda and Atarra and recovered an interstate arms manufacturing factory and recovered a large number of unfinished revolvers and pistols. Four people including two artisans from Bihar have been arrested. Two people from Hamirpur and Raebareli are also said to be involved in the gang.
STF Lucknow had received information that a large scale factory for making revolvers and pistols is operating in Banda. The revolvers and pistols made in it are being sold in the state capital and other districts. As soon as this information was received, a team of STF was formed under the leadership of Inspector Dilip Kumar Tiwari. In which Sub Inspector Vinod Kumar Singh, Constable Kaushalendra Pratap Singh and Constable Ravi Verma were included. Sub Inspector Vinod Kumar Singh of the team was sent to Banda a day before. Who established contact with the informer. Inspector Dilip Kumar Tiwari reached Banda on Saturday. The Inspector of Civil Line Police Station was also included in the action.
The team first raided the house of Gyan Singh in Gulab Nagar of the city. Two country-made pistols, one country-made revolver, 5 semi-manufactured pistols, two pistol bodies, body cutting machine and other equipment were recovered from the spot. On their information, a raid was conducted in a house near the LIC office in Atarra and two machines were recovered. Which are used for making bodies. The recovered machines were so heavy that they were taken out through a crane and sent to the police station through a loader.
Shivam Singh and Anuj, who were caught, said that they used to bring raw material from Bihar. The body of the weapon was prepared through machines in Atarra. After this, revolvers and pistols were prepared in Banda. The machine recovered in Atarra is operated by Saddam, a resident of Bihar, who was not found on the spot. The artisans caught from Bihar said that they used to get 5000 rupees as wages for one pistol. Due to this greed, they come here and work here.
The case filed by STF Inspector Dilip Kumar Tiwari includes the names of seven accused. Four of them have been arrested, three are absconding. These include a person from Raebareli, Hamirpur and one from Bihar.
