With the opening of the passport office, the much-awaited demand of the people of Bastar, the residents of Bastar will no longer have to rush to Raipur to get their passports made. The passport office was inaugurated today from 21 September in Jagdalpur, the headquarters of the Bastar division, in the presence of Joint Secretary and Chief Passport Officer Dr. KJ Srinivas and Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap. In fact, for the last several years, there was a demand to open a passport service center in Bastar. Approval was also received for this in the year 2019.
An old building in the collectorate office was renovated and brightened by spending Rs 17 lakh 45 thousand. The building was ready a year ago, in which the entire setup of the passport office has been prepared. A lot of time was taken in networking. Along with this, due to technical reasons, it took time from 2019 till now to open the Passport Seva Kendra. The network that was to be used for the passport office. No clearance was being received from that company either, but later the technical team of another company came here and completed the survey work. Now the network has also been arranged.
BJP State President and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev said that, with the establishment of passport office, the citizens of Bastar region will get relief from the problem of going to Raipur to get passport made. The people of Bastar have been traveling long distances to get passport made, due to which the people of Bastar were facing a lot of inconvenience. Now the inauguration of the new passport office in Bastar division headquarters Jagdalpur will reduce the problems of Bastar residents to a great extent. He said that the state government is continuously working for development, the public is getting benefit from the better development of Bastar.
