Haridwar, September 21 (HS). Tourists will be able to enjoy rafting in the Ganga River in Rishikesh from September 23. The Adventure Sports Department has taken this decision based on the report of the joint inspection team. In the initial phase, rafting has been allowed at three places.
The joint inspection team formed to assess the water level of Ganga inspected on Friday. The river rafting technical committee organized a reconnaissance run with rafts and kayaks. Senior adventure sports officer Jaspal Singh Chauhan said that it has been recommended to start rafting from Marine Drive to Shivpuri, Brahmapuri to Nim Beach, and Khara Source.
Rafting will start at these places from Monday. A decision will be taken after a week after reassessing the water level to start rafting at other places. The joint inspection team included Jaspal Chauhan, technical committee members Arvind Bhardwaj, Dharmendra Negi, Vijendra Bisht, Rampal Bhandari, and Rishi Rana.
