Dhamtari, September 21 (HS). Preparations have started for the Jal Jagar Mahotsav to be held in the district next month. Various sports activities including half marathon will be held in the two-day event, for which the administration is busy preparing. Collector Namrata Gandhi held a meeting of nodal officers in the Collectorate meeting room regarding the preparations for the Jal Jagar Mahotsav organized on October 5 and 6 on the banks of Mahanadi at Ravishankar Shukla Dam Gangrel in the district under Jal Shakti Abhiyan 2024 Catch the Rain, Nari Shakti to Jal Shakti. During this, he gave necessary guidelines to successfully complete the program.
The collector said that in Jal Jagar Mahotsav, guests from the country and abroad will discuss about water conservation through conference and various activities are being organized. For this, the collector gave necessary guidelines to complete all the preparations before time and discharge the assigned responsibilities honestly. In the review meeting, point-wise information was taken about various programs including marathon, water meeting, industry stall, exhibition under Jal Jagar, carnival, water Olympics, junk to jugaad, Rudrabhishek, drone show, impersonator program on environment theme, camping, route chart, control room, CCTV, food stall, drinking water arrangement, electricity arrangement, security arrangement.
The collector gave instructions to make flex and banners for all the programmes. He gave instructions for cleanliness of the venue, arrangement of ambulance and better security arrangements. He gave instructions to ensure arrangements of table, chair, mike, T-shirt, medal etc. as per requirement. The collector asked to ensure arrangement of dustbins, cleanliness, slogan writing, railing, arrangement of participants for cultural programmes and arrangement of sufficient volunteers in all the areas of the venue. He gave instructions to improve all types of arrangements including parking arrangements, lighting arrangements, control room arrangements. Superintendent of Police Anjaneya Varshney and nodal officers of the concerned programmes were present in the meeting.
