Jaipur, September 21 (HS). Under the Swachhata Hi Seva fortnight, Municipal Corporation Greater Mayor Dr. Saumya Gurjar participated in the “Dravyavati River Cleaning and Beautification Campaign” on the Dravyavati River Front on Saturday. On this occasion, Mansarovar Zone Deputy Commissioner Laxmikant Katara, councilors, school children and institutions were present.
As part of the campaign, the mayor taught the school children a lesson on cleanliness and also explained about wet and dry waste. The mayor cleaned the Dravyavati River Front along with the children and picked up the garbage lying there including plastic bags, glass and plastic bottles, dry leaves of trees and plants etc. with his own hands and put them in the dustbin.
All the children, organizations and common people cleaned the Dravyavati River Front in half an hour with the slogan “We will make Jaipur clean”
On this occasion, the Mayor said that any country or city is known for its cleanliness. We will be able to realize the intention of a clean India only when all citizens understand their responsibility and remain committed to keeping their city, village, street and neighbourhood clean. Apart from this, on Saturday, in view of the Swachh Survey, all OICs inspected the cleanliness system in the respective zones.
