India's exports have decreased significantly due to various reasons, so now the government has decided on various measures to increase the export figures and speed up the work in this regard.

Concerned over the massive drop in India's exports in August due to the Red Sea crisis and shortage of containers, the government is now making every effort to find a solution in this direction. Under which the government has formulated a strategy to increase the supply of containers and support exporters. In this regard, a meeting was held on Thursday under the leadership of Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. In which it was decided that the state-owned Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) will start operating a large container ship and purchase five additional second-hand container ships in addition to reducing the loading and handling costs of empty containers by the Container Corporation of India (Concor). To get faster approvals and reduce turnaround time, simultaneous container scanning will also be introduced at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA).

The government hopes that the decision taken in Thursday's meeting will reduce shipping costs, improve availability of empty containers and lead to faster clearance of export consignments.
