Kolkata, September 21 (HS). The metropolitan city of Kolkata is likely to remain partly cloudy during the next 24 hours. There may be rain with thunder in some areas after noon. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 28 degrees Celsius. In a statement issued by the Meteorological Department on Saturday, it has been told that according to the weather information of the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees more than normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 26.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.4 degrees more than normal. The maximum humidity in Kolkata was recorded at 93 percent and the minimum humidity was 71 percent. During the last 24 hours, 3.7 mm of rain fell in Kolkata.
Apart from Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and North 24 Parganas districts are also likely to have partly cloudy sky with thundershowers. The temperature in these districts may remain between 33 to 35 degree Celsius.
Light to moderate rain is expected in the areas of South 24 Parganas, East Medinipur and West Medinipur. The maximum temperature in these districts will be between 32 to 34 degrees Celsius.
Malda and Murshidabad districts will also remain partly cloudy and there is a possibility of rain with thunder. The temperature in these districts will be between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may occur in North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah and Hooghly districts during the next 24 hours. Rain will also continue in Alipurdurwar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong in North Bengal.
