Bhopal/ Indore, September 20 (HS). In the context of the Kisan Nyay Yatra organized in all the districts of the state, Kisan Nyay Yatra was organized in Indore on Friday under the leadership of State Congress President Jeetu Patwari, former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh, in which thousands of farmers reached the rally with their tractors, while a large number of Congressmen and common citizens also participated in the rally.

A huge public meeting was organized today at the Collector's Office in Indore on the occasion of the conclusion of the 'Kisan Nyay Yatra' taken out by the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee under the leadership of State Congress President Jitu Patwari, to raise the voice for the rights of the farmers of the state, to provide them the support price for their crops and to demand the price of soybean at Rs. 6,000 per quintal.

Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh while addressing the Kisan Nyay Yatra organized in Indore said that till the farmers do not get the support price of crops and the price of soybean is Rs. 6000 per quintal, the struggle of Congress will continue like this. The state government has always been doing injustice to the farmers. Farmers are sometimes worried about fertilizers and seeds and sometimes about electricity. Farmers are looted by buying their crops at very low prices in the mandis.

Tractors were prevented from entering the city limits

State Congress President Jeetu Patwari said that by stopping thousands of tractors coming to participate in the Kisan Nyay Yatra from entering the city limits, the oppressive BJP government of the state has exposed its dictatorial face. Even after permission, this act of the government is like tearing apart the democratic system, through this Kisan Nyay Yatra we have reminded the BJP of the promise made to the farmers which it had made in its manifesto in the name of 'Modi Ki Guarantee'. He said that the state government has broken its promise, neither the price of wheat was given at Rs 2700 nor the price of paddy was given at Rs 3100 per quintal, the government is not even talking about giving the cost price of soybean.

Jeetu Patwari said that we want to make it clear to this oppressive government that until the farmers get the support price of their crops and the price of soybean is Rs 6000 per quintal, this fight for justice for the farmers will continue unabated. If the government does not agree, then in the next phase there will be agitation in the markets and after that the government will have to be ready for the siege of the assembly. No matter how long the agitation continues, we are not going to sit in peace until the farmers get their rightful rights.

The PCC chief said that you must listen to those who voted for you and made you the Chief Minister. If you forcibly stop tractors and suppress them, it will be an undemocratic step. This government will be held accountable for every drop of blood of my colleagues in the struggle for justice for farmers. Mr. Patwari said that tractors participating in the Kisan Nyay Yatra are being stopped throughout Madhya Pradesh. Today in Indore too, the police have stopped tractors by putting up blockades at various places. By cancelling the permission for the Kisan Nyay Yatra tractor rally, dictatorship and dogmatism have been introduced. Mr. Patwari said that this situation of the farmers is a matter of concern. This attempt to suppress the rights and voice of farmers is against the basic principles of democracy. When farmers raise their voice about their problems, they should be heard and communicated with. Such demonstrations are part of the democratic process, and the dictatorial BJP government should try to understand their issues instead of stopping them.

Farmers from all over the district had come out with great enthusiasm to attend this general meeting on their tractors, but those tractors were stopped by barricading the city borders. An attempt was made to stop not only the tractors, but also the farmers and Congress workers through heavy police force and only one tractor was allowed to go to the meeting place. Congress spokesperson and party candidate from Sanwer assembly, Reena Bourasi, was arrested near Baroli Phata while coming from Sanwer.
