Bareilly, September 20 (HS). Shafaat Hussain, director of Uttar Pradesh Waqf Development Corporation, has accused those opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill of being registered land mafia and agents of the community. He said that Asaduddin Owaisi, Tauqeer Raza, Deobandi and Barelvi are the people who have done brokerage in the name of the community and have occupied the land.
Shafaat Hussain said in a press conference at Bareilly Circuit House on Friday that this is Narendra Modi's government, the Wakf Amendment Bill will be passed. No one can stop it.
Actually, the Modi government at the center has come up with the Waqf Amendment Bill, which the people of the Muslim community are opposing. The BJP is engaged in making the people of the Muslim community aware through the leaders of its minority cell.
Shafaat Hussain said that those who are opposing the bill have never done any work for the downtrodden Muslim community but have encroached upon the Waqf land. He said that we have set a target of getting 5 lakh Muslims to join the BJP, which we will achieve very easily. He said that the BJP government has given the benefits of all schemes to people of all castes and religions without any discrimination.
It is noteworthy that the Central Government has sent the Wakf Amendment Bill, recently introduced in the Lok Sabha, to the 31-member Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for further consideration. BJP MP from Dumariyaganj Jagdambika Pal is the chairman of the JPC.
