New Delhi, September 20 (HS). Senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chaddha has appealed to the central government to allocate a government residence to the party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal for work. He said that this is not a facility, but a means. Arvind Kejriwal has resigned from the post of Chief Minister. Therefore, he will soon give up all the facilities including the residence he got as Chief Minister.
Chadha said that AAP is a national party and as per the rules, every national party gets an office in the country's capital Delhi and its national convenor gets a government residence. There are many national parties in the country and their national convenors have also got a government residence along with the office. He said that despite being the Chief Minister of Delhi for 10 years, Arvind Kejriwal does not have his own house. Therefore, the party is also writing a letter to the nodal ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, so that a government residence can be allotted as soon as possible.
Raghav Chadha further said that no constitution, law or court has asked Arvind Kejriwal to resign. But he has chosen the court of the people. Today, when a simple councillor of Delhi completes his five-year term, in the same time he buys big cars, big palaces, bungalows, land and makes property for himself. There are many such examples, those who used to campaign on scooters when they became councillors, today roam around in BMWs and live in bungalows of two-three thousand yards.
On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal is an example of morality, honesty, dignity and purity in this politics that even after being the Chief Minister for more than 10 years, he does not have his own house or property today. He said that Arvind Kejriwal will move to another residence after leaving the government residence as he does not have his own house. He will go to the court of the people by sacrificing all the facilities he gets as the Chief Minister. Because this fight is not to change the government, but to change the system.
Raghav Chadha finally said that there are about 6 national parties in this country. BJP, whose president JP Nadda has been given a government residence as the national president of the party. Congress Party's National President Mallikarjun Kharge, BSP President Mayawati, CPM and NPP's National Presidents have got government accommodation in Delhi. Therefore, we want that being the sixth national party of the country, the Aam Aadmi Party should also be provided with the resources that it should get. In this context, the Aam Aadmi Party is writing a letter to the nodal ministry of housing and urban affairs. We will request that Arvind Kejriwal be provided with these resources as soon as possible. Hopefully we will not have to fight a long battle to get government accommodation and the central government will not take politically motivated decisions. Since Arvind Kejriwal has to vacate his residence. Therefore, whatever is our right, it should be given to our party as soon as possible.
