Ballia, September 20 (HS). After the NH 31 was broken due to the rising waters of the Saryu river, people surrounded by the sudden flood are facing the shortage of clean drinking water and boats. However, on behalf of the government, the district in-charge minister Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu tried to reduce the problems of the flood victims by distributing relief material among the flood victims of Yadav Nagar and Thekha Dera of Bairia tehsil area on Friday.

He gave each flood victim 10 kg flour, 10 kg rice, 5 kg lye, 2 kg tur dal, 2 kg roasted gram, jaggery, salt, masala, mustard oil, candles, matchboxes, biscuits, potatoes, tarpaulin and soap. Before this, the minister-in-charge took a look at the condition of the victims of Yadav Nagar and Thekha Dera, the most affected Basti by the disaster, from the NDRF boat. He asked the flood victims who were staying on the roof of their houses about their problems. He also enquired about the facilities being provided by the administration. The victims said that they are getting food. On being told about the shortage of drinking water and boats, the minister-in-charge directed SDM Bairia Sunil Kumar to provide boats as per the requirement of the victims. Also, provide adequate drinking water. He assured the flood victims that they will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience. The government is standing with them. The minister-in-charge directed the SDM to prepare a list of all the remaining victims and distribute relief material among them.

During this time, Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Azad Ansari, MLA Ketki Singh, former MLA Surendra Singh, SDM Bairia Sunil Kumar and former District President of BJP Jaiprakash Sahu etc. were present.
