Nepal's Prime Minister leaves for America, efforts to hold talks with Modi in New York – News India Live | News India

Kathmandu, September 20 (HS). Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli left for a 10-day visit to the US on Friday. Along with attending the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister Oli's main agenda during his US visit is to have sideline talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana and other senior officials of the Foreign Ministry have also accompanied him. Prime Minister Oli will attend several programs during his ten-day US visit. This is Oli's first foreign visit after becoming Prime Minister for the third time.

As soon as he reaches America, Nepal's Prime Minister Oli's first goal is to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 September. Modi, who is going to America for three days, will be in New York on 22 September. Oli is continuously making efforts to hold talks with Modi in New York on the same day. His chief political advisor Vishnu Rimal, who went to America with Oli, said that Foreign Minister Dr. Rana herself is making efforts for the meeting of Modi and Oli. Rimal said that our Foreign Minister is in direct contact with the Indian Foreign Ministry.

An official of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said that the Nepal government has been informed about the busy schedule of Prime Minister Modi, but every effort is being made from their side to ensure that this meeting takes place somehow.
