Gopeshwar, 20 September (HS). District Magistrate Chamoli on Friday conducted a review meeting of the construction works being carried out under PMGSY. During this, he instructed to expedite the work as well as complete it with quality.
District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari has asked to provide a report with justification and photographs of the motor roads blocked in the disaster which are taking more than three days to be made operational. Get the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) done for the roads which have suffered more than 30 percent damage during the rains and make a proposal to the committee constituted at the district level. So that the roads affected by the disaster can be repaired quickly. Provide an estimate to the disaster management for the repair of damaged roads soon.
The District Magistrate instructed that the matters related to alignment disputes should be resolved by talking to the local people. Forest land transfer matters should be resolved quickly. The ongoing road and bridge construction works should be completed quickly by increasing the number of workers. During this, the District Magistrate reviewed the progress of works in all the divisions in detail and gave necessary instructions.
PMGSY officials said that currently a total of 47 construction works are being carried out under all the divisions in the district. Most of the works have been completed. While 11 construction works are obstructed due to alignment dispute, forest land transfer and other reasons.
PMGSY Superintending Engineer Sandeep Srivastava, Executive Engineer Sachin Kumar, District Disaster Management Officer NK Joshi including Executive Engineers of all the divisions of PMGSY were present in the meeting.
