Ludhiana: The accused who carried out the sensational incident of throwing acid on a woman, her daughter and brother, resident of village Gobindgarh in the city, was arrested by the Focal Point Police within a few hours. This incident of throwing acid was carried out by the married husband of the victim. After getting information about the said case, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused Rajveer Singh. The incident took place on the night of 18 and 19 September, when the accused entered the house of a married woman living in village Gobindgarh and threw acid on her. When the victims tried to resist the accused by shouting, their minor daughter and brother were also injured by throwing acid on them. After carrying out the incident, the accused managed to escape from the spot. Due to the acid attack, a married man, his daughter and brother were brought to the civil hospital for treatment.
In this case, Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, the chief officer of the Police Focal Point, said that after receiving information about the acid attack on the married couple, Assistant Station House Officer Balbir Singh reached the Civil Hospital and inquired about the entire situation. According to the victim, her husband Rajveer Singh committed the incident due to the animosity of domestic dispute. According to the victim, she was married to Rajveer Singh, a resident of village Jalal Mazra in Barnala, about 7 years ago. After marriage, a daughter was born to her, but her husband Rajveer Singh used to quarrel with her over small matters and beat her badly. Many times, a compromise was reached in the presence of big people, but the husband did not stop his actions. When the situation worsened, she started legal proceedings in the said case. According to the victim, the case of domestic violence against her husband is pending in the court, the decision of which was expected to come on Thursday, September 19. Rajveer felt that the decision in the court case was going to come against him, in this fear and anger, he hatched this horrifying conspiracy. On the night of 18th and 19th, Rajveer Singh entered the victim's house by jumping over the wall. After entering the room, he threw acid on the victim, her daughter and the brother he had brought along. After committing the crime, Rajveer fled from the spot.
After receiving the information, the police have filed a complaint against the accused and started raids to arrest him. According to police officials, the accused was hiding in a dhaba to escape. However, the accused will be arrested and presented in court.
