Mumbai: The police have arrested the couple who had threatened famous Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan in Bandra in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and fled on a scooter.
The Khan family has received death threats from the Bishnoi gang several times in the past. The police started running after receiving the threat again. Actor Salman Khan lives with his father Salim Khan and his family in Galaxy Apartments at Band Stand in Bandra (West). Salim Khan had gone out for a morning walk at Bandstand at 8.45 am yesterday. He was tired and had just sat down for a while when a scooter was coming from the direction of Galaxy Apartments. An unknown person was driving the scooter and a veiled woman was sitting behind him. He took a U-turn on the scooter and came to Salim Khan. The police officer said, after stopping the scooter and threatening Salim Khan, 'What will you do with Lawrence Bishnoi', both of them took a U-turn and fled on the scooter.
Salim Khan's bodyguard saw the number of the two-wheeler. Later a complaint was lodged at Bandra Police Station.
The police caught both the accused on the basis of scooter number, CCTV footage and other information. During police interrogation, the accused said that he had threatened to joke with Khan.
In June 2022, Salim Khan was sitting on a bench at Bandra Bandstand after a morning walk. Then a stranger gave him a note. The letter threatens to kill Salim Khan and Salman Khan.
