More than 32.54 lakh devotees visited Amba in 7 days during Mahamela | News India

Ambaji Bhadravi Poonam Maha Mela 2024: Saying 'Am' removes troubles and saying 'Ba' brings happiness… Amba tolo bolta bhavna kalesh kapaaya… One of the 51 Shaktipeeths is located in Ambaji, Gujarat. In this 170-year-old tradition, even today lakhs of devotees come walking from far and wide and feel blessed after seeing Maa Ambe.

Bhadravi Poonam Mahamela is organized every year in Ambaji. This year this Mahamela was organized from 12 to 18 September, in which more than 32.54 lakh devotees visited Maa Amba and got their horoscope corrected. While more than 61 thousand devotees also visited Gabbar 'Jyot' via Udan Khatola. Apart from this, in this year's fair, Maai-devotees have also donated more than Rs 2.66 crore in cash and more than 500 grams of gold at the feet of Jagatjan.

On the day of Bhadravi Poornima, people from far and wide come here on foot or by vehicles to have darshan of 'Maa Ambe' in Sangha. Then the Girimalas of Ambaji reverberate with the sound of 'Bol Mari Ambe, Jai Jai Ambe'. Free food is also arranged by charitable civic-organizations on various routes for the pilgrims and lakhs of devotees.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, the state administration provided special facilities like security, food, medical, clean water, Dome facility for Rehwa and additional ST bus for the pilgrims returning home from Ambaji.

“Various Service Activities”
Huge food pandals were set up in the Bhadravi Poonam fair with the help of the state government and donors, in which more than 5.19 lakh pilgrims took advantage of free food. At the same time, three huge domes were built for the stay of pilgrims coming on foot, under which 22,556 domes were arranged in the old college ground, 32,520 in the Kamakshi dome and 16,877 in the Pancha dome. Thus, a total of 72 thousand devotees took advantage of this facility.

During this Mahamela, more than 20 lakh devotees took advantage of the Mohanthal-Chiki Prasad. Apart from this, additional ST buses were started with the noble intention that no citizen should face inconvenience in the bus returning to their hometown during or after the Bhadravi Poonam Mela. In which more than 5.04 lakh Mai devotees reached their hometown safely through a total of 11,455 trips of ST buses in just 7 days.

State's new initiative in Mahamela: 'Our Gujarat, Plastic Free Gujarat'
To realize the mantra of 'Plastic Free Gujarat' and 'Padyatra-Swachh Padyatra', GPCB collected the waste generated during the padyatra and disposed it in a scientific manner. Also, this year a unique initiative of Plastic Free Gujarat was taken by the Industry Association by giving one steel bottle out of five empty plastic bottles to the walkers. Also, various cultural programs were organized by the Cultural Department of the State Government from 15 to 17 September.
