Raipur, 19 September (HS). Inter-state accused Rakesh Parihar of Ramnagar Tehsil Phulera Rajasthan, who created a fake ID on Facebook in the name of the Chief Minister, has been arrested today, Thursday. The mobile phone and SIM card used in the incident have been seized from the possession of the accused. Earlier also, an accused has been arrested from Alwar, Rajasthan.
It is noteworthy that a fake ID was being operated with the aim of tarnishing the image and earning money by fraud by creating fake IDs on Facebook and adding friends by misusing the name and photo of the Chief Minister (Chhattisgarh). After BJP State Co-Media Incharge Anurag Agarwal lodged an FIR, a crime has been registered against the unknown accused in Range Cyber Police Station Raipur under 66 (C) IT Act, 336 (3), 340 BNS.
Taking the matter seriously, Inspector General of Police Raipur Range Amresh Mishra directed the team of Range Cyber Police Station to collect technical evidence and arrest the accused. As per the instructions received, the team members conducted technical analysis of the said fake ID and succeeded in identifying the unknown accused and he was located in Rajasthan. The team members reached Rajasthan and traced the accused and arrested Rakesh Parihar in the case. The accused told that he created a fake ID on Facebook of the Chief Minister (Chhattisgarh) and the then Chhattisgarh State BJP President in 2022. One mobile phone and SIM card used in the incident have been seized from the accused.
In the area of Rajasthan where the police team conducted the raid, some people of that area commit such crimes by misusing the photos and names of prominent/important persons and creating fake IDs on Facebook. The accused was arrested on 19 September and presented before the Hon'ble Court for judicial custody.
