Lohardaga, 19 September (HS). A meeting of the district level road safety committee was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna. In the meeting, compliance of the instructions given in the last meeting was reviewed and instructions were given to the departments.
The transport and police departments were directed to regularly check helmets, run regular checking campaigns for drunk driving and over speeding. Instructions were given to regularly make teenagers aware of traffic rules in schools, to give information about traffic rules to the school management, to collect fines from those who violate traffic rules, etc.
In the meeting, attention was drawn by social workers towards the problems being caused due to broken culvert on Hisri-Bonga road, damaged roads in Municipal Council area, certificates being given to Good Samaritans, bad roads etc. on which the Deputy Commissioner issued necessary directions to the officers of the concerned department. Divisional Forest Officer Abhishek Kumar, Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, District Transport Officer Sanjay Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Shivanandan Badaik, Excise Superintendent and officers of other departments were present in the meeting.
