While presiding over the 26th convocation of Acharya Narendra Dev Agriculture and Technology University on Thursday, the Governor of the state and Chancellor of the University Anandiben Patel said that hard work and determination brought high grade A plus plus in NAAC. This achievement gave a new identity to Uttar Pradesh along with the university in the whole country. She said that it is everyone's responsibility to take the university forward, for this the entire university family will have to come forward. Whatever work the university is doing, its benefits are being received by the poor, backward classes and farmers. Said that after 2047, the name of the Agricultural University will be written in golden letters. Praising the teaching work of daughters, the Chancellor said that for the last two years daughters are getting ahead of sons. We all have to respect food and water. We all have to take a pledge from today itself not to waste food. He said that the problem of climate change is the biggest obstacle in farming. There is a need to develop advanced varieties of species to fight the problem of climate change. Farmers have an important contribution in strengthening the country's economy. Our farmers are not only food providers but also life givers. The government is continuously working for new agricultural methods. The university will have to do research so that more crops can be produced in less water, so that the income of farmers can increase. He said that 25 percent of the oil is being imported from outside in our country, for this there is a need to encourage farmers. The Chancellor said that the Prime Minister has given a budget of 1.52 crore agriculture in the field of agriculture in 20204-25 so that our country can become self-reliant in the field of agriculture. The government has been working for the cultivation of pulses and oilseeds and one crore farmers will be given assistance for natural farming. He said that there is a need to move beyond the set target. Encouraging the young students, the Chancellor said that they should take advantage of many beneficial schemes of the government instead of getting into the job. With these schemes, they can set up their own business. Along with this, they can also work to provide employment to others. He said that the university is working by adopting six aspiring districts. For the development of aspiring districts, everyone needs to work together at the district officials, village head, district panchayat member and village panchayat member level. Before this, the program was inaugurated by all the guests with the national anthem, message of environmental protection by filling water, and the university song. The Vice Chancellor honored all the guests by presenting them mementos. The stage was conducted by Dr. Sitaram Mishra. On this occasion, members of the Management Council, District Magistrate Ambedkar Nagar, all the Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and students who received medals and degrees were present.

Agricultural University got a new identity in the country due to the success of NAAC

Dr. C. D. Mai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Agricultural Finance Corporation India Limited and former Vice Chancellor of Agricultural University Parbhani Maharashtra, in his address as the chief guest, praised the work of the university. He said that the face of the university has changed very rapidly. The success achieved by getting high grade in NAAC for the first time is the result of the university's commitment to continuous improvement. He said that this is the first agricultural university in the country to achieve this success. He said that the Chancellor/Governor of the state held eight meetings for NAAC recognition, which reflects his greatness and hard work. He congratulated and wished the students who received medals. He said that in view of the increasing population of the country, there is a need to accelerate agricultural production to guarantee food security. To achieve inclusive development, agricultural markets will have to be improved, seeds will have to be improved and input quality will have to be increased. Dr. C. D. Mai said that we should try to increase our agricultural growth rate from about two percent to four percent. The objective of the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme is to increase soil fertility and help in the production of healthy food through organic methods without the use of agrochemicals. We have to work to increase the income of farmers. He said that today's youth are not just degree holders but they represent future pioneers, creative and visionary people in the agriculture sector. He said that the state government is taking various measures to increase crop production. This agricultural university is making significant contributions to agriculture and farming communities in eastern Uttar Pradesh through 25 Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The National Award for the Best Center to Krishi Vigyan Kendra Basti is an important achievement. The Krishi Vigyan Kendras run by the university were also praised for their contribution in crop residue management and millet cultivation in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Central and state governments are well-wishers of farmers: Baldev Singh Aulakh

Addressing the convocation, Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh said that 33 percent wheat and 11 percent rice are being produced in Uttar Pradesh. Our Uttar Pradesh ranks first in vegetable cultivation. Many efforts are being made by the government to increase the income of farmers. The central and state governments are running various schemes for farmers, which farmers should take advantage of. The double engine government always stands with the interests of farmers. Many researches are being done by the Agricultural University to double the convenience and income of farmers, which is a commendable effort. The minister said that the university has developed 199 species so far, the benefits of which are reaching the farmers directly. He praised the work of the university for achieving A++ grade in the NAAC evaluation. Natural farming in 10 acres, foreign students receiving education in the university, national level award to the Agricultural Science Center, award for clean and green campus etc. are the results of the continuity and hard work of the university.

The whole year was full of achievements for the Agricultural University

The Vice Chancellor presented his report to everyone at the 26th convocation of the university. He said that the university has achieved a high grade in NAAC which is the result of everyone's success. Eight review meetings were held under the leadership of the Chancellor and the university was able to achieve this success under his guidance. In the last session, students from Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Zimbabwe and Nepal took admission in the university and in this session too, students from Ghana, Egypt, Lesotho, Kenya and Nepal are going to take admission which will be a big achievement. The degrees of all the graduate students have been included in DigiLocker. He said that two improved varieties of paddy Kala Namak species Kala Namak-1 Pusa Narendra CRD have been developed. In the last four years, one patent was granted and one was published. A radio center has been established in the university through which scientists are working to make farmers aware. The university has made 10 acres of barren land suitable for cultivation by doing natural farming. The university stood second in the state by winning a total of 19 medals in the state level youth festival. The university has achieved many achievements like clean and green campus.

Medical kits and books arrived from Raj Bhavan for the convocation ceremony

The state's Chancellor Anandiben Patel arrived with medical kits and books to promote education and encourage students to study. She distributed these kits to the principals of those schools who had secured first place in the competition.

The Chancellor released half a dozen books

Chancellor Anandi Ben Patel and other guests released half a dozen books on the occasion of the 26th convocation. Souvenir, Annual Report 2024-25, Purvanchal Farming, Crop Residue Management, Natural Research and Extension and Books named Physical Education and Yoga were released.

18 winning participating students were felicitated and kits were given to Anganwadi workers

On the occasion of the convocation, Chancellor Anandi Ben Patel honoured the students who won various competitions in primary and pre-secondary schools by giving them school bags and fruits. On the other hand, Anganwadi workers were encouraged towards education by giving them Anganwadi kits.

Brilliant students were thrilled to receive gold medals at the convocation ceremony

In the convocation ceremony, 595 students were awarded degrees and 27 meritorious students were awarded gold medals. All the meritorious students were overjoyed after receiving gold medals from the state's Chancellor Anandi Ben Patel. After receiving the medals, the students were seen taking selfies and congratulating each other. The meritorious students took blessings from their teachers. Chancellor's Gold Medal was given to eight meritorious students, Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal to 11 and University Gold Medal to eight meritorious students. Media in-charge of Agriculture University, Ashutosh Singh said that Chancellor's Gold Medal was given to six meritorious students and Chancellor's Gold Medal was given to one meritorious student each in postgraduate and PhD. 11 meritorious students were awarded Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal which included seven meritorious students of graduation, three in postgraduate and one in PhD. In the same sequence, University Gold Medal was given to seven meritorious students of graduation and one in PhD. A total of 595 undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students were awarded degrees, including various colleges and the main campus run by the Agricultural University. In which a total of 330 undergraduate, 238 postgraduate and 27 PhD students were awarded degrees. Ashutosh Singh said that in the presence of the Chancellor, the degrees of 595 passed students of 2023-24 have been uploaded to the Digi Locker of the Government of India.
