29-year-old Jawan Baljit Singh, posted as Lance Naik in the Indian Army from Jhajj village of Noorpurbedi block of Punjab, has been martyred. The Jawan was martyred when the army vehicle fell into a deep ditch while facing the enemies. In this accident, 4 other Jawans travelling in the vehicle were seriously injured while Sepoy Baljit Singh was martyred.
According to the information received, on Tuesday, the army officers came to know about the enemy's activities. They immediately left in two vehicles. Meanwhile, while facing the enemies, an army vehicle suddenly fell into a 200 feet deep ditch near Manjakote area. In which Baljeet Singh was martyred.
Giving information about the information received from the army, the family said that Santokh Singh's son Baljit Singh joined the Army's 2 Para SF in 2014. Baljit Singh was a part of the Special Forces Unit and PMKG. He was posted in Guna. Baljit Singh was currently posted on duty in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The martyred soldier got married about 1 year ago.
