Gangs have been seen attacking a crowd of Mahadalits in Bihar's Nawada. On Wednesday night, miscreants set fire to about 80 houses. After this incident, a police convoy reached the spot and tight security arrangements have been made. The incident took place in Mufassil police station area.

According to initial information, a fire broke out in the Dalit settlement after a ruckus over a land dispute. There was a fierce fight between two parties over the land dispute, during which there was also fighting and arson. After this, many houses were set on fire. The incident took place in Krishna Nagar Dalit settlement near Nanaura in the Mufassil police station area of the district, where the clash took place.
The officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation
After getting information about the incident, Nawada Sadar Circle Officer Vikas Kumar Singh, police of Mufassil police station and administration team reached the spot and controlled the situation. Officials have made tight police arrangements in the village till late night.
Dispute over land possession
It has been learned that Dalit families are currently occupying large plots of land in the village. There is a dispute with other parties regarding the possession of this land. The case is being heard with senior officials. The victim's family alleges that the goons suddenly attacked them on Wednesday evening. Along with beating them, their houses were also set on fire. After receiving information about the fire, the fire brigade was sent.
There is no report of any casualty yet
Regarding this incident, Nawada SDPO Sunil Kumar said that there is no news of any casualties so far. Prima facie, the case seems to be a land dispute. Officers are at the spot and many people have been detained. Strict action will be taken against such criminals.
