Jalandhar : When the team of Delhi NCERT (NCERT) reached Jalandhar on Wednesday afternoon, they got information that the shopkeeper was selling fake NCERT books in the college bookstore located in the book market opposite DAV College under Thana 1. They laid a trap and first bought books from the shopkeeper by posing as a customer and later informed the police station. When the police of Thana 1 reached the spot and investigated, more than 50 NCERT books were found.
ACP North Sheetal Singh said that his team received information from the NCERT team from Delhi to Harinder Singh, in-charge of Thana 1, that a shopkeeper in the college book store in front of DAV College is selling fake books. The party reached the spot and during the investigation, the shopkeeper Arun Luther, who lives in Friends Colony, was arrested and more than 50 fake books were recovered and a case was registered. Thana in-charge Harinder Singh said that 50 books of various classes have been recovered from the accused and efforts are being made to find out from whom the accused used to get these books so that he can be named in the case and arrested.

When the police team of Thana 1 reached the shop of College Book Store, there was a stampede among the shopkeepers nearby. On this occasion, ACP North Sheetal Singh said that this is the first case that has come to his notice. His team has started investigation and is trying to find out how many books the accused has sold so far. The police will soon find out who all are involved with him and what are the names of his other accomplices in the case.
